Triclosan in soap, is it helping or harming us? That’s the question researchers at the University of California, San Francisco asked. Triclosan is added to soap to supposedly make it tougher against the germs. Thousands of other products also contain this synthetic chemical including cosmetics, acne creams, and Colgate Total toothpaste
UCSF researchers decided to determine how much triclosan people absorb. Since doctors and nurses wash their hands repeatedly throughout the day, they seemed like a good group to study. The study included 38 doctors and nurses at 2 different … Read the rest

Migraines afflict 18% of women (27 million women in the United States) and 6% of men and finding the underlying cause of these debilitating headaches can be quite elusive.
Recent research at Kansas University found one possible trigger for migraines – BPA! Bisphenol A lurks in plastic products and has estrogen- like properties. By causing estrogen levels to rise in the body it may trigger migraines.
Female rats were used in this study since they get headaches similar to humans. When a migraine strikes a rat they avoid light, sound, grooming, and routine movements. (Who would have … Read the rest

Why would anyone give their DVD the title of “Mercury Undercover”?
Because mercury is the great imitator of diseases.
It can be a major underlying cause of a great many different diseases, but goes unrecognized. Instead the disease constellation of symptoms is given a name like multiple sclerosis, lupus and others. Then that constellation of symptoms is treated symptomatically. But the real underlying hidden cause of the disease is mercury toxicity.
That’s why we should consider mercury in all neurological diseases and many autoimmune diseases. In the olden days hat makers used mercury In the process of … Read the rest

Houseplants lend atmosphere to a room by bringing a bit of the outdoors inside. But did you know that all plants filter toxins from the air? That’s a great benefit to you.
Indoor air may be more polluted than outdoor air, especially if your home or work place is “air tight”. Chemicals outgas from plastics, carpet, furniture, wall coverings and other synthetic materials polluting your air. After you breathe these chemicals into your lungs, they can be absorbed into your body. If your body can’t eliminate them, they get stored in your tissues.
Stored chemicals can cause pain, disability and … Read the rest

Bottled water has been purported to be safer than tap and is clearly more convenient, so what’s the problem? Bottled water generates tons of refuse. Each year, Americans throw away 26 billion bottles and only 15% are recycled. On top of that, 16.5 billion gallons of water is wasted to supply Americans with “convenient” access to water. The bottles are made of plastic that does not biodegrade, becoming a permanent component of our landfills. In 2005 nearly 2 million tons of plastic water bottles were sent to the landfill as opposed to being recycled.

Because of the concern about radiation exposure from the nuclear power plant problems in Japan I’m posting this special edition of Be Wise-Health Wise. Two well respected doctors in natural healing sent information about the best way to prepare for any radiation exposure, much more complete and informative than anything I’ve seen in the media.
If you follow a healthy life style way of eating, you will already have protected yourself from the effects of radiation exposure.
Dr. Jaffe, MD, Ph.D. “Acting from an excess of caution” explains that radioactive materials only cause damage if you don’t have enough antioxidants … Read the rest
