In the Nutrition for Osteoporosis article about clean eating for healthy bones we found out that eating healthy, nutrient dense vegetables, animal protein, non-gluten whole grains, nuts and seeds allows our body chemistry to balance so we can assimilate calcium into our bones. But if we eat the standard American diet which upsets body chemistry we can take lots of calcium and it will never get into the bones because it gets excreted through the bowel or the urine or put where it’s not supposed to be causing arthritis, bursitis and other abnormal calcification processes in the body.

Brilliant clean nutrition lays the foundation for reversing or preventing osteoporosis. Eating healthy makes you feel so clean. Besides being kind to your bones it’s kind to your brain too so you think more clearly, have more joy in life and can focus better on implementing the other steps to healthy bones.
Real food, as in vegetables, healthy meat sources, nuts and seeds, fruit, and whole grains serve your bones well. However, the Standard American Diet (SAD), an appropriate acronym does not serve your bones well.

With all the questions about the efficacy of osteoporosis preventing drugs that we’re hearing about now, we begin to wonder if the density of the bone as seen on an x-ray or bone density test really tells us whether that bone is more prone to break easily. And the bigger question – does an x-ray or bone density test tell you if that bone is really healthy.
