Disease Is Optional

Lately we’ve been looking at how to discover diseases lurking in the body. That’s important, but my greatest desire lies in helping you prevent disease. That’s where I spent my time and energy with patients.

In my search for the underlying cause of disease I finally discovered that we have to heal our cells in order to be perfectly healthy.

It doesn’t matter what our disease process is called. The fundamental truth is that our cells deteriorate because of poor nutrition and environmental toxicity. In fact a lot of the food we eat is really toxic to our bodies. I call it death food. A lot of people call it junk food.

When our cell membranes get all congested with that death food, our cells can’t possibly get the good nutrients in and the bad junk out. That’s when they go into deterioration that leads to disease and death.

That’s the bad news, but there’s so much good news.

You can implement so many things for yourself that will regenerate those cell membranes and bring you to an optimal level of health.

Unfortunately most people are not willing to change their lifelong habits until they are threatened with pain or disability and even then some people still won’t change their bad habits. But not you. You wouldn’t be reading this newsletter if you weren’t interested in doing the best you possibly can for your body.

And remember, the same principles that help prevent disease also help improve disease processes.

So let’s launch into this new series on what you can do for yourself. Healthy habits, though very simple conceptually, are not always easy to put into practice.  But it only takes about three weeks to change a habit and that’s the good news. You can change those habits and when you start utilizing your new habits and feeling great you won’t want to get go back to all the junk that fills up your cell membranes and clogs or poisons them.

Now I was a sugarholic and that among other things led me into a downward spiral of great discomfort. So I had to give up sugar to get out of all that pain and discomfort that I’m sure would’ve led to marked disability. And I am so glad I made the changes.

One of the places I learned the most about nutrition and what really works for the human body was at the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation. So let’s start this series by looking at the work that Dr. Price did because his research forms the foundation for understanding which foods actually nourish those cell membranes.

In my nutrition class, Disease is Optional- the Choice is Yours, recorded on video, I displayed and reviewed the photos Dr. Price recorded of people who ate native, healthy food versus those who ate the modern junk food. You may be surprised at the findings of his research.

Watch for the next Be-Wise Health-Wise newsletter for a synopsis of Dr. Price’s fascinating research.
