An Abundance of Water

Last week we attended the wedding of the daughter or our wonderful friends from my internship days in Yosemite National Park in California. Their daughter had said from the time she was 6 or 8 years old that she would be married in the Yosemite Chapel.

Her mom and I became acquainted in our medical training days, working in the hospital for 36 hours straight every fourth day. We stayed up all night delivering babies together. Our husbands often brought dinner into the hospital and stayed and ate with us.

Then we had small children ourselves at about the same age. We camped and snow skied together and went to the Shakespearean festival at times even though we lived 5 hours apart. Then our children became teenagers. Those years were so busy that we had not seen each other for 20 years. What a delight it was to see them and share in the joy of the marriage of their daughter.

We all stayed in Yosemite and camped for a few days together. Since California received so much rain this year, the water falls flowed abundantly and spectacularly.

Water cleanses even nature. The air was so clear and plants so vibrant from all of the water coming down.

Even at home now smog pollutes the air after a short hot spell. That's what the air was like when we arrived back home. Then the rains came again and washed the sky clean.

Take a lesson from nature, water cleanses. Be sure to drink plenty of pure water to cleanse your system daily, about 2 to 3 quarts of pure water. You're made of 70% water, keep it pure for optimal health.

To your good health,
Dr. Jo

Dr. Jo's Nutrition Course available on tape

Good morning everyone. Where did the last 2 weeks go - it flew by. The first week was totally consumed with teaching a nutrition course for a local college every evening for 3 1/2 hours. What a wonderful experience that always is. I love the receptiveness of college students to this message of health for each one of them and especially for their offspring. Healthy parents make healthy children. How wonderful that they understand this concept before they have their children.

Senior citizens can take this course free of charge. It's a delight to have their insights and eagerness to learn about nutrition also. It's never too late to add health building habits to our life styles.

We have audiotaped and vidoetaped this course - about 14 hours of teaching. If you are interested in purchasing a set, let me know. I will have prices and details soon.

Love,
Dr. Jo

How acorns sprout

Nature's ways never cease to amaze me. God created an amazing universe.

The oak trees produced a bumper crop of acorns this year. Walking in our woods, we go slippery sliding over them as they create roller blades beneath our feet.

With all of the rain, the acorns have sprouted more abundantly than usual. As the brown slick outer shell cracks open, a layer of brilliant red covers the acorn meal inside.

Then a sprout begins to develop at the end. It seeks the moist soil as it elongates. Before long that sprout pushes itself deeper and deeper into the soil as the acorn continues to lie on top of the soil.

For some reason I had never observed that process before. I always thought the acorn had to be planted somehow into the soil before it could sprout and grow.

God designed the small acorn to survive and grow into a mighty oak tree no matter what circumstances it finds itself in.

Sometimes we feel as small and insignificant as that little acorn.

But when we draw close to God and draw from His strength and plans and purposes that He placed in us, we can become those "oaks of righteousness, planted for the display of His glory."

Meat you eat - is it free of chemicals?

Do you want to know how to find meat to eat that's free of hormones, antibiotics and raised in a healthy way?

Did you read my latest e-zine (newsletter) sent out today? Here's an excerpt:

"Remember these two things when buying meat: (1) Limit your consumption of animals that are not raised on their natural diet. (2) Limit your consumption of animals that are given hormones, antibiotics, and pesticides.

Do you find it nearly impossible to find meat and poultry that fit these criteria at the grocery store? In fact, it's even difficult to find them in a health food store. But there is a solution. "

Want to know what that solution is?

Then click on any article in the column to the right of this blog. It will take you to www.dr-jo-md.com.

Then click on the "E-zine Back Issues" and read this latest edition of Be Wise-Health Wise.

Better yet, click on the free e-zine button and fill out the simple form for your free subscription to Be Wise-Health Wise.

My first e-book is on it's way

I love to share the good news about health with you, showing you how to regain optimal good health or stay really healthy. Keep your cells healthy, clean and well nourished and you will feel great.

Most of us have an awareness of environmental pollution. But few realize how toxic our bodies really are. And fewer yet know how to effectively cleanse our bodies of these toxins accumulated from our daily exposure to chemicals and toxic metals. And fewer yet know that those toxins can be one of the major causes of their ill health.

So we need a simple approach to cleansing that takes only a few minutes per day.

For over 20 years I have searched for effective yet "do-able" cleansing techniques. You don't have time in your busy lifestyle for time consuming cleansing that takes a lot of will power.

During those 20 years I also worked with hundreds of patients, instructing and coaching them through detoxification and nutritional rebuilding to a high level of wellness.

Now I am about to share that approach with you, one simple step at a time.

Right now I am in the process of writing my first e-book on the first simple step to becoming a healthier, cleaner you. Watch for updates on its progress.
